Claus Morgenstern was born in Siegen, Germany, in 1985 and lives and works in Mannheim.
After studying Photography and Design at the Pforzheim School of Photography, graduating in 2008, he began working independently as a photographer. Since then, he has worked for national and international brands, agencies and institutions, specialising in People, Lifestyle, Portrait and Corporate Photography.
In 2014, he founded WERFTSTUDIO in Mannheim, which remains his creative base and production studio today.
Claus has been a member of the BFF – Professional Association of Freelance Photographers and Film Designers – since 2012 and a BFF Professional since 2016. Over the years, he has been actively involved in the association, serving as Chairman of the BFF Baden-Württemberg region and, most recently, as a member of the BFF National Board. Since 2015, he has also been a member of the Association of Photographers (AOP) in London. Today, he serves on the Administrative Board of VG Bild-Kunst, representing the interests of professional visual artists and photographers.
His work has been published and exhibited internationally. In 2023/24, Claus was selected by Lürzer’s Archive as one of the “200 Best Ad Photographers Worldwide”. Selected personal works are also available as limited-edition fine art prints.
Claus Morgenstern’s photography is defined by an authentic, emotional and empowered visual language. People are always at the heart of his work – their personalities, their stories and the spontaneous moments that happen in between. His relaxed, down-to-earth approach shapes not only his imagery, but also the way he works with talent, agencies, clients and crews.
